Module 4: Podcasts
Found and subscribed to a great podcast on Mindfulness. It also discusses strategies to help everyone maintain Mindfulness including children.
Vikki Kelly a world class thought leader and infoprenuer discusses in this episode the importance, the why and the how to maintain mindfulness and shares with us insights as to the damage currently being done with our children’s minds and communication skills as a result of a device driven generation. Vikki reflects upon methods that we can all use to quiet our mind, maintain attention and each become more aware of our body.

The Power of Resilience: Sam Goldstein, Ph.D. at TEDxRockCreekPark
I found this video on a blogsite called PYPE with Andy. I am really enjoying that my world is opening up by following other blogs.

Reflection -Module 3
I am really happy about the potential of Google Docs because of the reduction of paper trail and of the game of email ping pong.
I have already shared a couple of documents that have required Admin approval before I have distributed them. In the past this process was a matter of emailing or showing a hardcopy and then if any changes or additions were required you would have to go back to the document yourself and make the changes and then go through the process again to approve those changes. Sharing a Google Doc makes this process far more streamlined.

Practical Applications
- I have just created a google spreadsheet ready for next Term's Year 3/4 Gala day. The students choose whether they play Cricket or T-Ball on the day. I normally get them to fill out a preference form(lots of paper!!!!) or I ask them and put it on a class list. From there I put them into teams.I have created a spreadsheet with all this relevant information and will share it with one of the class teachers in Year 3/4. I have inserted all the names so that all the student will need to do is insert their preference. My next challenge is to see how I can get the computer to make the teams for me : )
- For PMIs on programs I have implemented, I think it will be really useful to create a survey to get feedback from relevant colleagues and then organise the data in a spreadsheet format.
I have been following www.pyppewithandy.com and he has great ideas not only for PE but generally. Worth a look. His last post was about Teacher Motivation and nearing the end of a long Term, the information in his blog will be really useful.
